The Dr. Hans Riegel Foundation is continuing the charitable legacy left by the former co-owner of HARIBO with the aim of supporting and assisting young people in a sustainable way as they shape the future.
Dr. Hans Riegel founded a nonprofit operating foundation aiming to make an active contribution and realize its own projects through long-term cooperations. Dr. Hans Riegel wanted his foundation to be an independent institution that not only provides financial support to other social players but also and primarily tackles the challenges of the future itself while bringing them into the public discourse.
The founder considered education to be the raw material of highly developed societies, forming the basis for competitive capacity, progress and welfare in society. His belief: Young people shape the future of our society on an economic and social level. Therefore, supporting young people in shaping their lives in an independent, responsible and sustainable way benefits everyone's future. Accordingly, the prominent purpose of the Dr. Hans Riegel Foundation is educational support for young people who are motivated and willing to learn - especially in the STEM (=science, technology, engineering, math) subjects.
